pubmates Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using pubmates, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

pubmates is operated by Bruno Silva (Sole Trader).

2. Use of the Service

pubmates provides a platform for users and venue owners to create, manage, and view venue profiles and related content.

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the service at any time.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account
• All activity carried out under your account

Each account may claim one venue unless otherwise permitted.

If you claim a venue, you confirm that:

• You are authorised to represent that venue (e.g. owner or manager)
• The information you provide is accurate and up to date

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you upload (including photos, descriptions, and event details).

By uploading content, you grant pubmates a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:

• Host, display, and distribute your content on the platform
• Display your content in search results and promotional materials relating to pubmates

You must ensure your content:

• Is accurate and not misleading
• Does not infringe third-party rights
• Complies with applicable laws
• Does not contain objectionable, abusive, hateful, harassing, defamatory, threatening, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful material

Zero-tolerance policy.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Any user who posts objectionable content or engages in abusive behaviour towards other users will have their content removed and their account permanently terminated. Reports of objectionable content or abusive users will be reviewed and actioned within 24 hours. We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account at our sole discretion, without notice.

4a. Content Moderation, Reporting & Blocking

pubmates provides tools so users can keep their experience safe and enjoyable:

• Reporting: Users can report any check-in, comment, story, or other user-generated content via the in-app report option. Reported content is reviewed and removed within 24 hours if it violates these terms.
• Blocking: Users can block any other user. Once blocked, the blocked user's content is hidden from your feed immediately, and they cannot interact with your content.
• Filtering: Submissions are checked for known objectionable terms and rejected at point of entry where applicable.
• Enforcement: We act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours, including content removal and ejection of users responsible for that content.

By using pubmates you agree that you have no expectation that user-submitted content will be permanently retained, and that we may remove content or terminate accounts at our discretion to enforce these terms.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Certain features may require a paid subscription (“Pro”).

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe
• You can cancel at any time via your account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• Fees are non-refundable unless required by law

One-time purchases (such as boosts) are non-refundable.

6. Prohibited Use

You must not:

• Post false, misleading, or inaccurate information
• Claim or impersonate a venue you do not operate
• Upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content
• Post objectionable, hateful, harassing, defamatory, threatening, sexually explicit, or otherwise abusive content
• Harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or intimidate other users
• Post content that promotes or incites violence, self-harm, or illegal activity
• Impersonate any other person, real or fictitious
• Attempt to disrupt, damage, or interfere with the platform
• Use the service for fraudulent or abusive purposes

Violations will result in immediate content removal and account termination. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users.

7. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Breach these Terms
• Misuse the platform
• Provide false or misleading information

You may delete your account at any time via your settings.

8. Intellectual Property

All rights in the pubmates platform (excluding user content) are owned by pubmates.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or exploit any part of the platform without permission.

9. Availability of Service

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee that pubmates will always be:

• Available
• Uninterrupted
• Error-free

We may suspend or restrict access for maintenance or updates.

10. Limitation of Liability

pubmates is provided “as is” and “as available”.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

• Indirect or consequential losses
• Loss of profits, revenue, or data
• Loss arising from reliance on user-generated content

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

11. Privacy

Your use of pubmates is also governed by our Privacy Notice, which explains how we collect and use personal data.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
